Why a raw star average can mislead on Yono-style apps

Star averages compress nine facts into one number. The weighted score here blends a Bayesian average with a recency signal and a transparency signal. The counts sit beside the numbers so the reader can weigh the position.

Methodology

Where the weighted score comes from

The composite blends a Bayesian rating average (to dampen small samples) with a recency signal (to reward recent versions) and a transparency signal (to reward publicly stated RNG, RTP or session-log claims). The raw count is displayed next to each app so a reader can sanity-check the position. A list with seven entries is too short for fine-grained comparisons; the directory is built to be readable one entry at a time.
